Start off with a secured card, that way you won't get turned down and you won't get penalized before you even start.

Most credit cards are raising interest rates like crazy right now.

You don't need to apply for a bunch of credit cards. Apply for one and use it and repay it. Having a bunch of credit cards will be worse than not having any because whatever the total spending limit on all the cards are is the amount of potential debt you have.

If you have a bank account you could apply for a credit card with that bank.
References :
If you have checking account or saving account, ask your bank to issue a secured credit card for you. For example, deposit $500 to the bank and ask them to issue a secured credit card with limit $500.

A store credit card is also quite easy to get, try Macys, Target, etc.

Check out bankrate dot com for any credit card offer.
References :
I had that same problem. I just turned 18 so I had NO credit and nobody would give me a credit card... So I got a secured credit card. You have to put a deposit but other than that its like a regular credit card.

Orchard Bank Secured Mastercard reports to all three credit bureaus and reports it as a normal credit card so it really helps boost your score.
