You can order your free annual credit report online at annualcreditreport.com, by calling 1-877-322-8228, or by completing the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mailing it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
Be careful when you type this to spell it correctly, or link through the FTC site. Other web sites will promise a "free" credit report and score that requires you to provide a credit card. Once a short period has passed they will start to charge you and they make it difficult to cancel.
The free annual credit report does not include a credit score. If you have a good relationship with a mortgage broker, lender or insurance agent, they will sometimes check your score and let you know what it is.
