Has anyone ever heard of Trinity Credit services from Texas?they do credit repair and want$1500 to do 2 people

I found these guys on the web. They have been in business 10 years. Their rep says for my husband and I it will be $1500 because there is so much to clean off. This seems excessive but I have not ever done this before. I know we can do it ourselves but we have no time. Can someone please advise?

Take the $1,500 you'd pay them and pay down your debt….Get Pay for Delete agreements in writing first…

Accurate negative information cannot be deleted from your credit files….What these firms do is play the debt validation trick….where they send dispute letters to the credit bureaus for all your negative entries….The credit bureaus must either validate within 30 days or remove per the Fair Credit Reporting Act….You don't need to pay anyone $1,500 to do this for you….

what a scam, most of these do not work.

you're better off to call the debtor directly to work out a payment plan.

The only thing that repairs credit is time.

Some services may be able to tell you how to consolidate debt or suggest ways for you to pay off debt sooner but when all is said and done your credit scores are the way they are because of reports to the credit bureaus that companies make about how you pay back your debt.

They can tell you all they want but if a company has reported on you then only that company can reverse it and they will usually only do that once it's proven that they were wrong.

If your credit is bad, talk to a financial planner or adviser and follow what they suggest. Time, time, time and better repayment of your debts or less debts is all that will fix things.

I have read many times that this type of credit repair is a hoax and most times is illegal. They tend to do something temporarily to erase the things from your credit but the slowly reappear. However, from my own personal experience, I suggest you dispute the things on your credit yourself online with your yearly free credit report and you'll see just how easy it is to clear some of those things!

Here's a quick copy I got from the Federal Trade Commission Website that should be helpful, but let me point out first one thing that I read that stood out companies that if a company wants you to pay for credit repair services before they provide any services, they are probably illegal. Read here :

"The Scam

Everyday, companies nationwide appeal to consumers with poor credit histories. They promise, for a fee, to clean up your credit report so you can get a car loan, a home mortgage, insurance, or even a job. The truth is, they can’t deliver. After you pay them hundreds or thousands of dollars in fees, these companies do nothing to improve your credit report; most simply vanish with your money.
The Warning Signs

If you decide to respond to a credit repair offer, look for these tell-tale signs of a scam:

* companies that want you to pay for credit repair services before they provide any services.
* companies that do not tell you your legal rights and what you can do for yourself for free.
* companies that recommend that you not contact a credit reporting company directly.
* companies that suggest that you try to invent a “new” credit identity — and then, a new credit report — by applying for an Employer Identification Number to use instead of your Social Security number.
* companies that advise you to dispute all information in your credit report or take any action that seems illegal, like creating a new credit identity. If you follow illegal advice and commit fraud, you may be subject to prosecution."

Save the money. There is no special letter or magic formula to cleaning up your credit. You also can't get it done overnight.

First get a copy of your credit report. If there are errors, dispute them with the credit bureau.

Despite what these credit repair guys tell you, legitimate derogatory items stay on your credit report for 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency. They might get something temporarily removed but it will come back.

Work on settling the negatives. Start with the newest and work back to the oldest. The older the debt, the less impact on your score. Also, the older the debt, the more likely they will settle for a smaller amount.

You can ask for delete for payment. Things like medical bills, phone, cable, and other things that are only reported when they are sent to collections are likely delete for payment candidates. If the item is more than 3 years old, offer 25%; 2 or 3 years, 50%; less than 2 years, 75%. Lump sum gets the best deals. Payment plans have to be short term.

Get any settlement arrangement in writing and do not give them direct access to your bank account.

You will still need at least a 24 month consistent, on time payment history to see improvement in your credit score.

I would be EXTREMELY hesitant to do this. First of all, they cannot guarantee any positive results. If they get some negative items removed, due to inaction by the bureaus, the bureaus can turn right around and RE-SUBMIT the negatives again later on.

If the negative items are legitimate, then no credit repair service can remove them permanently. They can only attempt to 'trick' the bureaus for awhile.

$1500 is WAY TOO HIGH for this highly unpredictable service anyway. What is the rush you mention?….They can;t get any improvement as fast as you think anyway.

It would not be easy for you to do yourself, but it can be done by you personally and by getting a good credit repair book online for like 20 bucks.

If you;re dead set on getting someone else to do it, & are applying for a home loan for instance, ask the mortgage broker if they know someone who has a track record for improving buyers credit and doesn't charge anywhere near as much (UNDER $500).
